چکیده
This study aimed to assess the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects of lawsone isolated from henna leaves (Lawsonia inermis).
Methods: A total 120 healthy adult mice (weighing about 25±5 g) were included in this study. Sixty out used determine LD50, 30 test, remaining (30 mice) for an test. The hot plate was effect, while effect determined by ability compound minimize inflammation edema caused injection carrageenan. Results: Lawsone Lawsonia inermis. Stuart SMP10 digital melting point apparatus measuring all points. Infrared spectrometer FT-IR 400D measuring/recording IR spectra (KBr) which frequency absorption represented as cm−1. For 1H-NMR spectrum recording, a Bruk-spectrophotometer 400 MHz with internal TMS standard, deuterated Ś 2.51 ppm acetone-d6, remained solvent signals well 13C.NMR used. TLC utilized adsorbent, UV light, or iodine-completed visualization verify compounds' purities.
LD50 oral 96 mg/kg, highest dosage that did not kill any experimental animals 80 investigate lawsone's effects.
aspirin possessed compared control group (p<0.0001 p<0.001, respectively); however, induced potent (p<0.1). In contrast, exerted (p<0.05) equipotent carrageenan-induced hind paw edema.
Conclusion: It is concluded possesses effects, endorse practical medical importance latter widely traditionally these purposes own its cost-effectiveness safety; further studies are required systemic safety

Lawsonia inermis flowers were evaluated for chemical and biological properties for the first time. Extracts were prepared successively by hexane, chloroform and methanol. Phenolics (7.8-239.0g gallic acid equivalent/kg of dry mass), tannins (12.5148.5mg cathechin equivalent/kg of dry mass) and flavonoids (36.2-43.75mg quercetin equivalent/kg of dry mass) were quantified. Methanol extract has a ...

متن کاملSynergistic anti-inflammatory Activity of Lawsonia Inermis linn. and Chlorophytum Brovilianum sant
Nonsteroidal and steroidal drugs are generally used to treat inflammation. However, these drugs have side-effects like nausea, vomiting, etc. This lead to search for new anti-inflammatory agents from natural sources, which would be effective and safe. Many plant extracts show a synergistic effect with each other or with modern drugs. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the synergistic a...
